The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.
The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) protects and defends the human rights of BLACK transgender people. We do this by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting our collective power.
To be seen, to be heard, and to be understood. So often the stigma surrounding mental health issues and therapy prevents Black women from taking the step of seeing a therapist. This space was developed to present mental health topics in a way that feels more accessible and relevant.
Founded and led by Trans and gender nonconforming people and our allies, we create safe and transformative spaces where members of our community can heal—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—from the trauma arising from generations of transphobia, racism, sexism, poverty, ableism and violence, and nurture them into tomorrow’s leaders. We currently primarily focus on supporting and nurturing the leadership of Transgender women of color living in the U.S. South.
Powered by two decades of work to end the Black HIV epidemic, BAI is led by people who represent the issues we serve. BAI sources our capacity building, mobilization, policy, and advocacy efforts from Black leaders and communities across the country and provides high-quality direct HIV services and linkage to care to Black people.
Solutions Not Punishment Collaborative (SNaP Co)
A Black Trans & Queer led organization that builds safety within our community, investing in our collective embodied leadership, and building political power.
To promote a multinational LGBTQ+ network dedicated to improving health and wellness opportunities, economic empowerment, and equal rights while promoting individual and collective work, responsibility, and self-determination.
Transgender-Variant & Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP)
We work in collaboration with others to forge a culture of resistance and resilience to strengthen us for the fight against human rights abuses, imprisonment, police violence, racism, poverty, and societal pressures. We seek to create a world rooted in self- determination, freedom of expression, and gender justice.
ProjectQ Community Center is a non-profit organization that provides safe space for LGBTQIA+ homeless youth. At our Community Center, LGBTQIA+ homeless youth can receive free mentorship classes and workshops, along with free gender-affirming haircuts.
A global movement creating safe spaces for Black women and girls (both gen-z and millenials) to voice, listen and encourage each other with unconditional vulnerability and honest acceptance.
National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC)
A civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and same gender loving (LGBTQ/SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS. NBJC’s mission is to end racism, homophobia, and LGBTQ/SGL bias and stigma.
This is a safe and healing space created to inspire wellness on all levels of the mind, body, and spirit. Used as a interval to release thoughts and to hold me accountable to my own transformative growth, I share it with you hoping to encourage the same sentiment through vulnerability and community.
Black Trans Femmes in the Arts (BTFA)
Our mission is to create spaces for the production and preservation of Black trans art and culture by building community with Black trans femme artists and providing them with the resources and support necessary to thrive.
