My Approach
In a society where “mental health” and “wellness” have become the new trend, what does this actually mean?
How do we actually tend to our individual mental health when our society does not value our collective mental health?
How do we heal and thrive as a community when we still have to operate within these systems that are historically racist, queerphobic and oppressive?
These are questions I'm continuously asking myself.
These are questions that don't have easy answers.
But we can not do the work to make change within ourselves and our communities without first asking these questions and acknowledging they are at the root of where the healing journey begins.
My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative. I truly believe in building connections with people, and encouraging them to show up as their most authentic selves while being messy in the process that comes from being human.
BECAUSE WE ARE MESSY. AND THAT'S OKAY!
Systems Approach
I am dedicated to doing my part in creating alternative systems that take into account a person's individual mental health as well as our collective mental health. I approach this in three ways:
Providing individual and group therapy services
Reparations to LGBTQ/Black & Indigenous Organizations through what is earned in providing these therapy services
Providing LGBTQ educational trainings and resources to educational institutions, organizations, non-profits, mental health centers and various other agencies
